After 12 years of tradition, great work, sacrifice, discipline and organization, I decided with a heavy heart not to hold the car fair in Nis this year, wrote the creator and director of the Car Fair in Nis Oliver Paunović on his Facebook page.
“Let it be noted in the history of Nis why we are interrupting this traditional manifestation. When the car industry is in a big crisis, and we ourselves do not know what will happen tomorrow, the price of the Chair hall according to the car fair in Nis has risen by 115 percent. On the other hand, for the first time this year, the support of the city to solve this problem together was missing. At our request and request that the fair be held and the price corrected, no one had the ear to be admitted to the City Hall on this topic, “Paunović pointed out and added:
“All these years, even though Nis does not have a fair space from the Sports Hall Chair, we made a beautiful fair hall and brought world and European car premieres to Nis and thus stood on the map of big cities that have a car fair. Unfortunately, there is no one to appreciate that. Now all these years of work have fallen into the water. Who knows why it is good? “, Concluded Paunović.
To remind you, the Car Fair in Nis was supposed to be organized for the 12th time this year. Despite the difficult epidemiological situation, City Group did not deprive fans of four-wheelers of the pleasure of seeing new models last year, by being the only ones in Europe to organize a virtual car fair.
The car fair in Nis is the largest fair event in this part of Serbia. In three days, the Fair was visited by a large number of people from the entire region. They have a unique opportunity to see the latest achievements from the world of the car industry in their city, but also to shop at reduced prices and with other benefits, which they do not otherwise have.
Back in 2009, Nis entered the list of cities where fairs are held.
“People from Nis are moving forward bravely”, this is how Mirko Alvirović announced the first Car Fair in Niš.
It seemed unreal and impossible, but still, it worked. A large number of attractive cars, huge interest of visitors showed that this city, which can be freely characterized as the center of southeastern Serbia, needed such an economic and tourist event.
The first car fair in Nis was opened by the now deceased Mirko Alvirović, the editor of the SAT show on RTS. He recognized the significance of this manifestation and through reporting in his show, he gave it even greater significance.
His son Mladen is of the same opinion, announcing the Car Fair in Nis on national television:
“Because Nis is a large economic center, strategically important because it is located near the borders of the two countries, the Car Fair is more than necessary.”
That’s how it started, and then the years went by and the Car Fair in Nis became the most visited economic and tourist event south of Belgrade. In those days, over twenty thousand people from the entire region came to our city, who every year have the opportunity to see the European and Serbian premieres of the best-selling car brands.
Apart from being attractive for visitors, such car showrooms also have great economic significance for the City itself.
We must not forget the business segment, as the most important, because this exhibition and sales event brings together importers and distributors of all world car brands, manufacturers of auto parts and equipment, representatives of related industries, professional organizations, associations, clubs, craftsmen.
