I met my NFT

The heritage of the city of Cannes will soon be on sale in NFT.

DIGITAL – La Croisette, the Old Port, Île Sainte Margueritte… Eleven key places in the city of Cannes will soon be available for purchase in NFT. An auction of the first 10 will be organized from June 20 to 24 during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The 11th will be offered to a Cannes resident who will be drawn by lot.

Concretely, it will therefore be possible to own in the form of intangible property, but with the certificate of authenticity made possible by NFT technologies, key places in Cannes, such as – in addition to those mentioned above – the Jason Decaires Taylor marine eco-museum, the Malmaison, the Old Port, the Forville market, the Suquet, the Pointe Croisette and the Georges Méliès Campus.

“Purchasers will be given a 3D reproduction of the Cannes site”, indicates the town hall of Cannes which does not fail to recall that this operation is a European first.

With this operation, the municipality hopes to “enhance its heritage beyond all borders and position itself on an innovative market (…), a source of attractiveness, influence and wealth”, explains the mayor, David Lisnard, in a statement relayed by The Parisian.

At the controls of the project, the Cannes company Pertimm, which specializes in artificial intelligence, will pay royalties to the town hall, and 10% of the receipts “will be paid to the Cannes donation fund which finances environmental actions”, adds the municipality.
