Fear of fuel shortages and its record price have led to increased demand for electric and hybrid cars. Due to the increase in the price of oil derivatives, the economic entities that deal with transportation were hit the hardest, so it took a long time for how much the transporters and taxi drivers will raise the price of their services.

However, there is no fear for Vladimir Mijailović from Čačak because he has already found his account in the use of electric vehicles, for which he does not need diesel fuel or gasoline, but only electricity. Thus, he became the first, and for now the only one who brought refreshment to the city on the Morava, because when the silent Tesla passes through the streets, no one remains indifferent.

– That idea of mine dates back a long time ago, when I was still sitting in a small office as a banker, thinking about how to provide an additional existence for my family of five. I put two vehicles in the taxi, which showed the slogan “eco green”. When they asked me what that actually meant, I patiently explained it to everyone. Later, I opened my taxi association, and all the vehicles in it were hybrid that are not harmful to the environment, when the opportunity arose to introduce fully electric vehicles, we did not hesitate for a moment, and the association works under the slogan to change vehicles every three years – he says for RINA Vladimir.

The young man from Čačak put all the benefits of an electric car on paper and took out the trick. When the new crisis situation began, he realized that his business move was a complete success.

– When you see how much a liter of diesel or gasoline or driving on LPG or CNG costs, in relation to a kilowatt of electricity, I calculated how profitable the investment of buying an electric vehicle is, with one charger of stronger power and volume. Also, you don’t have big and small services that many give hundreds of euros for, you just need to go to the salon to have your battery inspected and replace the air conditioning filters. So it is much cheaper to drive an electric car. When you look at the fact that every house has at least two cars, it is definitely worth having one for electric charging – said Mijailović.

He adds that the vehicle, named after the famous Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla, is in itself excellent marketing.

– When you have a car that drives itself, records everything around it, registers traffic lights, pedestrian signs and motorcycles, then it is the car of the future for me. I decided to put it in my fleet and the people of Čačak now have the opportunity to ride – said Mijailović.

Less exhaust, less air pollution and lower costs make electric vehicles more cost-effective in the long run. Their initial selling price is higher in relation to conventionally powered cars, but that investment pays off, and Vladimir from Čačak is one of the best examples of that. What is necessary is certainly the developed traffic infrastructure and the installation of chargers in public places, so that the streets of Čačak can receive an even larger number of cars of the future.
