Business on the side of ecology: the best Russian initiatives announced


The announcement of the winners was preceded by the fifth conference “Ecology and Business: Best Corporate Practices”. Representatives of “green” companies gathered to present cases on the implementation of environmental initiatives, discuss the ESG agenda, import substitution issues and the main trends in business eco-responsibility.

For the first time, the exhibition “ESG-ART. Ecology of the Soul” by artists Marianna Chaikina and Irina Kovalevskaya from the IMMI Gallery of Contemporary Art with the support of the MAKE SENSE agency with expertise in the art economy. In their works, the masters not only conveyed the problems of the environmental initiative, but also comprehended the patterns of the evolutionary process and globally assessed the results of human activity.

The main event of the month in the field of ecology ended with the award ceremony of the sixth ECO BEST Prize. Focus on solving environmental problems is a voluntary initiative of socially responsible companies, which consists in reducing the impact on the environment. The following awards were given for the best projects in this category: Gazprombank Leasing Group, Alfa-Bank, EuroChem-VolgaKaliy LLC, Association of Financial and Investment Advisers of the Stock Market, SUEK JSC, Krasnaya Polyana Resort, Alpina Publisher LLC, MTS PJSC , Meine Liebe brand and PJSC Detsky Mir, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Urayneftegaz, LLC LUKOIL-Western Siberia, Fix Price chain of stores, Perekrestok retail chain and SPLAT Global, LLC LUKOIL-Komi and Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education “National Research Tomsk State University”.

The ECO BEST award can be received not only for a specific development, but also for the promotion of environmental conservation ideas. Olga Filipenkova, Strategic Development Director of the Krasnaya Polyana Resort, shared an example of effective environmental management: “The Krasnaya Polyana Resort is seriously and for a long time considering a green development path for itself. We have focused on such important values ​​as caring for everyone, protecting the environment, the well-being of employees, responsible business, and the development of the territory in which we operate. The winners of the Award are companies that follow the ecological footprint of their activities along the entire production chain – from growing the product to the disposal of packaging. Whose developments caused a smaller mark on nature – the Expert Council determined. The best, in his opinion, were: ZENDEN Group, LUKOIL-Ecoenergo LLC, CDEK, Tomskneftekhim LLC, Moscow restaurants Coffeemania, Mirupak Trading House, SIBUR and Affect, EMERALD GREEN, TD KHIMMED, JSC Nefis Cosmetics.

The global environmental problem is the increasing amount of waste every day. However, environmentally responsible companies pay due attention to this topic, actively implementing business processes for the use of recycled materials. Anna Iospa, PR Director of SDEK, commented on one of these initiatives: “SDEK’s victory in the ECO BEST Award confirms that we have chosen really necessary and interesting projects to support the environment. The SDEC ECO: packaging, raincoats and key rings project is an example of an integrated approach to caring for the environment, when we expand the recycling of recycled materials and make cool new things out of them.”

Naturalness, safety and environmental friendliness of products are the criteria that the modern consumer focuses on. Manufacturers of consumer goods conscientiously follow the current trend, for which they received well-deserved awards. This year, the experts noted: Baikal Aqua Production Company, Detsky Mir Group, Krasnopolyanskaya Cosmetics, FOOD MILK LLC, Meitan LLC, Big LLC, Avicenna LLC, Organic Zone, FABERLIC, CLEENY, TM “Workshop of Olesya Mustayeva”, ANNA GALE, Kristall Minerals cosmetics, GALAN, OMOIKIRI.

Companies continue to introduce mechanisms that make it possible to create not only an environmentally friendly, but also user-friendly product. The ECO BEST award this year was held for the sixth time with the expert support of the Ecology Committee of the Regional Public Organization “Support”, the National Organic Union, the All-Russian Public Organization “Green Patrol”, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute”, the Federal State Budgetary Institution “VNII Ecology” and other state and public organizations.
