jpnn.com, JAKARTA – New ideas for innovating various programs and economic movements based on micro, small and medium enterprises are continuously being carried out, one of which is the BRILian Village Program.

The program initiated by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) aims to provide insight into financial literacy and inclusion for rural MSME entrepreneurs. It is hoped that they will better understand the latest digital financial products and services.

Together with various stakeholders, BRI initiated an online-based discussion (webinar) with the theme Directions and Opportunities for Indonesia’s Economic Recovery from Villages on 09/02.

In the event, Deputy Minister of Village & PDTT RI Budi Arie Setiadi said, village development is the beginning of a successful future in Indonesia.

“The village can be a starting point for local culture-based development, in accordance with the concept of sustainable development,” said Budi Arie.

In line with this, BRI Corporate Secretary Aestika Oryza Gunarto said the company continues to strive for sustainable development and development of villages. This is one of the steps to make the village the locomotive of the national economy.

Moreover, he continued, BRI wanted to align the company’s village empowerment strategy with the programs that the government was accelerating. In this program, BRI’s main focus is the revitalization of BUMDes, tourism villages, and the development of superior village products that are in accordance with local wisdom.

“This event is an alignment of the Ministry of Villages, as well as the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) in the village through the BRIlian Village Program,” said Aestika.

Aestika said, BRILian Village is also expected to be a driver of economic digitization of MSMEs through various services. Some of these services include BRILink agency, pasar.id website, and various innovations.

“As well as sustainable development in villages by relying on BUMDes as the main driving force,” he said.

Through the assistance and collaboration carried out, said Aestika, it is hoped that BUMDes and village communities will find it easier to access financial services.

One of the assistance for BRI-assisted villages is Menanga Village, Rendang District, Karangasem Regency, Bali. In Menanga village, the assistance provided is financial literacy.

Menanga BUMDes has up to now carried out financial records in an orderly manner, but the recording is still not in accordance with financial accounting standards. So BRI provides strengthening to BUMDes in the aspect of financial literacy so that Menanga BUmdes can make financial reports in accordance with applicable financial accounting standards.

Other assistance provided by BRI is in Kotoranah Village, Koto Besar District, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra. The empowerment felt by Bumdes Kotoranah is in the form of business literacy assistance.
