Brazil. Bolsonaro family bought more than 50 properties with cash

From 1990 until now, the Brazilian President, his three oldest children, his mother, five of his brothers and two ex-wives have bought 107 properties, in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brasília, of which at least 51 were acquired totally or partially using cash, reported the newspaper UOL.

According to this publication, payments “in national currency”, at today’s value, correspond to more than 25 million reais (about five million euros).

Jair Bolsonaro has already reacted to the investigation and asked: “What’s the problem with buying a property with cash, I don’t know what’s written in the article… What’s the problem?”.

The news comes in the middle of the electoral campaign, in which the current Brazilian President seeks re-election.
