The observation period on Saturday (13/2) starts at 00.00 to 12.00 WIB.

The head of BPPTKG Hanik Humaida said the first four lava avalanches were recorded during the observation period from 00.00 to 06.00 WIB with a maximum sliding distance of 1,000 meters to the southwest.

“The next three lava avalanches were observed during the observation from 06:00 to 12:00 WIB to the southwest with a maximum glide distance of 800 meters,” through his official statement in Yogyakarta, Saturday (13/2).

Based on the latest earthquake data, the mountain experienced 32 avalanches with an amplitude of 3-25 MM for 12-91 seconds, two earthquake gusts with an amplitude of 3-12 MM for 12-23 seconds.

Furthermore, eight multi-phase earthquakes with an amplitude of 8-15 MM for 6-9 seconds, one shallow volcanic earthquake with an amplitude of 45 MM for 8 seconds, and four distant tectonic earthquakes with an amplitude of 4-9 MM for 57-99 seconds.

During the observation period on Friday (12/2) from 00.00 to 24.00 WIB, BPPTKG recorded two incandescent lava avalanches coming out of Mount Merapi with a maximum sliding distance of 800 meters to the southwest.

“BPPTKG still maintains the status of Mount Merapi at Level III or Alert,” said Hanik.
