Bonus now also for PGB care providers | Money

Budget holders can apply for the care bonus until April 12 through the Social Insurance Bank (SVB), the Ministry of Health has announced.

People with a PGB decide for themselves which care providers, such as district nursing, they hire. These can be self-employed persons, but also care providers who are affiliated with an institution. Budget holders cannot apply for a care bonus for the latter group, because their employer may have already done so last year.

First wave

The health care bonus is intended for health care providers who, during the first wave of corona, between March 1 and September 1, 2020, “delivered an exceptional performance in the fight against corona.” To be eligible, the healthcare provider may not earn more than twice the average, or a maximum of € 73,000 per year.

It is not possible to request the bonus for family or relatives with whom the budget holder has an agreement of assignment. Other informal carers are also not eligible.

The care bonus can be applied for by people who receive their PGB under the Social Support Act, the Youth Act and the Long-term Care Act. For budget holders through the health insurer who want to give their care provider the extra, it is not yet clear what the scheme will look like.
