Bojic spreads the wings of the Eagles – News online

The real football bomb echoed from Vulongong: the White Eagles from Albion Park signed a contract with Predrag Pedja Bojić, a long-term professional in the A-league!

The experienced 36-year-old right-back made the decision to reactivate himself after a break of more than a year, and chose the ambitious club of the Serbian community from the southern coast of NSW as the ideal environment to return to the field.

– Pedja is a great reinforcement for us – said the member of the management and the treasurer of Orlov, Doug Burazor, since Bojić signed a contract with the club from Albion Park on January 12.

Burazor explained in two sentences how much the proven international, who played in England for three years in his career, will mean to the Eagles in realizing their ambition to win the Premier League of the Ilavar region this year.

– The experience and professionalism that Bojić will bring to our team is something that cannot be bought. He will raise us to a higher level and we are thrilled that a football player of this caliber will play for the Eagles – he said.

The club of the Serbian community of Wollongong played good football in 2020 and managed to reach the semifinals of the playoffs. With Bojić, the White Eagles want to make a new step forward and go even further this year. Pedja has great football knowledge and a winning mentality, confirmed especially at the time when he dominated the A-League with the Central Coast Mariners.

With the club from Gosford, Bojić won the title of the premier of the A-league in 2012 and the grand final in 2013.

After the end of the championship season, Bojić moved to Sydney FC, where he played together with Nikola Petković, while his teammates in the Mariners were Tom Rogić and David Bradašević. In his career, he recorded over a hundred games with Northampton in the English League 1 (third professional rank), and he was also a member of the “all-stars” team of the A-League in a friendly match with Manchester United in 2013.

For Bojić, coming among the Eagles is in fact a return home, considering that he grew up in Wollongong and made his first football steps as an eight-year-old in the Warrior Wanderers.

– In addition to having football knowledge and experience, Pedja is a local and a guy of Serbian origin. That will be a great thing for the Serbian community of Wollongong, especially for those who regularly follow the Eagles. Bojić will be of great importance not only for our club, but also for the entire Premier League of Ilavara – the treasurer of the White Eagles, Doug Burazor, pointed out.

In addition to Bojić, the club from Albion Park hired several other significant reinforcements, primarily Blake Horton, who, defending for Coniston last season, earned the title of goalkeeper of the year in the Ilavara Premier League.

Also, a new coach was brought in, the ambitious Rob Birkin, with whom Chad Bishop’s assistant also came. Everything looks like an exciting football season and new successes of the White Eagles await the Serbian community of Wollongong.
