Boise promotes Serbia: Film about “Mucki” hero made in Belgrade (VIDEO)

The Temple of Saint Sava, the Red Star Stadium, the Car Museum, the White Palace, are just some of the sights of Belgrade that can be seen in the film “Boys in Belgrade”, shot during the visit of one of the main heroes of the “Silent” series to Serbia. This documentary, with which the popular Boise promotes Serbia, will be available on DVD and in digital format from June 14.

John Challis, who played Boise in the series “Silence”, and is now the main actor in a documentary about Belgrade, gave an interview to the highest-circulation British daily “Metro” on that occasion, in which he enthusiastically talks about Serbia.

He explained how the idea for shooting the documentary “Boise in Belgrade” came about.

“In February last year, before this horror began, I was sitting singing some songs for recordings, when a TV crew from Serbia appeared. I thought someone was joking with me. But it’s not, “says Chelis.

He knew about the popularity of “Mućki” in Serbia, as he says, because he occasionally received payments when a Serbian television bought the rights to broadcast them.

“That TV crew invited me to come to their popular show in Belgrade. I decided to do it and it was an amazing experience. People stopped me on the street! My producer is Montenegrin and he told me “Why don’t we make a documentary in Serbia”. We were there for 10 days and met different people from different social groups, “says the actor.

He said that he visited the White Palace, although the family of the heir to the throne was not there, but he says that he knows how great fans they are of “Men”.

“I also went to their big football club, Crvena zvezda, I met with the priest of the Temple of Saint Sava, I also learned how to drink their wonderful brandy. Serbs absolutely adore “Males”. “I’ve seen murals by David Jason and other heroes,” explains Chalis.

He also visited the Museum of Automobiles in Belgrade, where he saw a yellow three-wheeled car “Rilant Regal”, as Del Boy and Rodney Trotter drive in “Mućke”.

“I think the British and the Serbs have a similar sense of humor. “They love our jokes, of which there were many in Belgrade, as well as the heroes of the series,” Chalis told “Metro”.
