BLM activism in America three years later: lack of money, corruption and crime

The fund raised just over $9 million in fiscal year 2022, up from over $80 million a year earlier, according to Fox News. Cash flowed into the fund amid the aggressive Black Lives Matter (BLM) activism that swept America three years ago after the death of black George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer on May 25, 2020 of the year.

As it turned out, the leaders of this fund (by the way, all blacks) were enterprisingly chic at the expense of generous donations sent by Americans who believed in the slogans of combating racial discrimination. Information resource The Free Beacon, which conducted a journalistic investigation into this matter, found out that the BLM movement used this “fair wind for personal enrichment and the purchase of real estate.”

For example, the founder of the movement, Patrice Cullors, in a matter of months acquired four properties at once with a total value of $ 3.2 million, scattered across America – from the state of Georgia on the Atlantic coast to the state of California on the Pacific. In addition, Kallors, who said she did not trust the police and security firms where former law enforcement officers work, hired her brother as her security guard, who, despite the lack of any experience in this matter, paid 840 thousand dollars for the year.

Other members of the Cullors family also received six-figure payments for various services. Another member of the board of the BLM fund withdrew millions of dollars from it under the guise of paying for the services of his own law firm. In addition, the fund acquired two luxurious mansions for $12 million – one in the vicinity of Los Angeles (California), and the other in Toronto, Canada. All under the guise of a grant for “education and support in areas with a black population.” As The New York Times calculated, all this in total took almost half the money raised in the first year of the fund’s existence. After all these simple financial tricks became public, several states even banned contributions to the BLM fund on their territory.

But the personal machinations of the leaders of the BLM movement pale in comparison to its public legacy. The good goal of combating racial discrimination, which really exists in the United States, has become a victim of political games. After the events of 2020, the authorities of some liberal states and cities, flirting with the pogromists who kept the whole country in fear, went on about their demands to reduce or completely dissolve local police departments. Law enforcement officers were accused of excessive cruelty and bias towards blacks. Everywhere and publicly, police officers – sometimes voluntarily, and sometimes forcedly – knelt before black people in a sign of repentance. As a result, the job of a law enforcement officer, once prestigious in the United States, has rapidly lost its appeal. As The New York Times pointed out, today many police departments across the country still cannot compensate for the loss of personnel that occurred after 2020.

But against this background, in America for the past couple of years, a sharp rise in crime has been recorded, primarily with the use of firearms. The MSNBC television channel states that mass shootings (as in the US they call cases of shooting in public places with 4 or more victims) “have become the new normal.” To confirm, the TV channel cited media headlines from different regions at the end of last week: three such crimes were recorded across the country on Thursday, one on Friday, six on Saturday, and four more on Sunday. And these are only mass incidents, and the number of incidents with fewer victims is even higher. As a result, according to MSNBC sociologists, Americans now call the main problem of the country precisely violence with a gunshot, which bypassed even covid and oncology in the opinion poll.

An evil irony over those politicians of the Democratic Party who followed the lead of activists who criticized the police was an incident in October last year. The house of Nancy Pelosi, who was then the third person in the US state hierarchy – the speaker of the House of Representatives, was attacked by criminals. Pelosi turned her back on cops and cheered on anti-discrimination activists in 2020 for political points. Today, those slogans in the ranks of the Democratic Party are trying not to be remembered.
