On Wednesday lunchtime, a woman in Blankenheim tried to obtain a digital vaccination certificate from a pharmacy using a forged vaccination certificate. According to the police, their plan failed because of the pharmacist’s attention.
The 36-year-old appeared at the pharmacy around 1:45 p.m. She presented her vaccination certificate and asked for a certificate with a QR code to digitize the vaccination certificate.
When she checked the batch numbers in the corresponding comparison file, however, the pharmacist found that both numbers had obviously not been issued. A request from the North Rhine Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians confirmed their suspicions.
In the meantime, the suspect had left the pharmacy with the vaccination card. However, the pharmacist gave the police copies of the vaccination certificate she had made. The suspect is now awaiting criminal proceedings because of the use of an incorrect health certificate. (ps)
