Prague – The annual Black Friday discount event falls on today. Many online retailers launched it a few weeks ago. The shopping centers have prepared discounts for visitors for the whole week, or they will extend them for Saturdays and Sundays, at least from Friday. Hotels involved in Black Friday are also advertising this year.

The Shop Watch service found out from the analysis of already launched events that this year the retailers included fewer products in Black Friday than last year. The average discounts listed are between 20 and 30 percent. “Among the Black Friday offers on Czech e-shops, we again found a lot of products for which we would dare to say that the declared discount is misleading,” said Jakub Balada from the Czech start-up Apify, which together with TopMonks and Keboola stands behind the tool Shopkeeper.

Black Friday started in the Mall.cz e-shop on October 8, ending at midnight from November 24 to 25. Alza.cz launched the discount event on November 10, and will offer discounted goods until Sunday. From other internet retailers, Datart, CZC.cz or Notino have previously launched the event.

Globus did not forget Black Friday either. “As part of the Black Friday event from November 25 to December 1, we will offer customers discounts of up to 60 percent. of Aneta Turnovská. She added that she will also offer discounts to customers in the Fashion Store.

According to a survey by the Association for Electronic Commerce (APEK), 65 percent of online customers plan to use the “shopping holiday” this year. There are 83 percent of them under the age of 24. According to APEK, they intend to buy at least part of the Christmas presents at discounts.

The Black Friday event was born in the United States, and according to APEK CEO Jan Vetyška, it has been celebrating success there since the 1960s. Black Friday falls on the last Friday in November every year.
