Big car, big grille – the VW Touareg has been renewed – Auto-Motor

The headlights and the grille on the nose of the renewed Volkswagen Touareg have merged into one, emphasizing the width of the vehicle with the strong horizontal division. The IQ.Light HD LED matrix headlight is new, which immediately brings 3 L-shaped driving lights on each side; 19,216 LEDs light up per lamp, of which 16 are larger and 19,000 micro-LEDs. The central touch screen with a 15-inch image diagonal is now offered at the basic price, the knowledge of the hardware has been improved, a high-resolution map enables navigation according to the lane, the voice control has also improved a lot – which is not available in Hungarian – and the side of the center console (footrest) is upholstered more softly. The number of USB-C chargers has not changed, but the performance has: instead of 15, they work with a power of 45 W.

The standard steel spring and optional air suspensions have been tuned, with the latter already taking into account the signal from the roof load sensor in the body roll control and stability control system. The base engine is a 3.0-liter V6 biturbo with 340 horsepower, the 3.0-liter V6 TDI with 231 or 286 horsepower. There are two plug-in hybrid drives – a 3.0-liter biturbo and an electric motor drives the 8-speed automatic transmission – the eHybrid has a system output of 381 horsepower, and the R has 462 horsepower.
