Between November 13 and 15, the series of shows UNREPRESENTED // Contemporary Anxieties takes the first steps towards the public

program UNREPRESENTED aims to explore with artistic means themes or groups current or less visible at the level of society, which have an impact on the communities we belong to.

The first project under the under-represented UMBRELLA is the series of shows and event related Contemporary anxieties which aim to address the subject of mental health, in particular anxiety disorders, by two theater performances, a series of workshops, a book containing the texts of the two shows and a set of information and exercises validated psychologically with the help of specialists.

Starting from Saturday, November 13th, 19:00 until Monday, November 15th, at 19:00, the public will be able to watch online the two shows within the project.

The dance-theater show feelings are just visitors has as its theme the panic attack, it is written and directed by Denisse Conn Tubacu, choreographed and performed by Mariana Gavriciuc.

Synopsis:

Ala feels a panic attack coming. Throughout the day, she goes through the whole repertoire of solutions and mechanisms to postpone it, to avoid it. As usual, some work, some don’t.

The show is made in partnership with theater, where live performances will be held, once the health situation allows.

The show-reading after the text Things (which I say to make me less afraid) is also available for online viewing between November 13-15. The play is built following a collaborative process, written by Alex Mircioi, about generalized anxiety and the response to stimuli during the pandemic. The show is directed by Andreea Lăcătuș and performed by Oana Jipa, made in partnership with Replica Educational Theater Center, where the public will be able to see the shows live, once the sanitary situation allows it.

Synopsis:

A white night before an important flight. A girl has to say goodbye to her safe space, the things she cares about and the people she has never connected with.

On Monday, November 15, at 19:00, a public meeting will be organized on ZOOM with the project team, where the public is invited to a discussion about the representation of mental disorders in art and the anxious effects of the pandemic.
