Environmental protection is a priority for all of us. Many municipalities in Serbia do not have enough funds in their budgets to solve long-standing problems that have a harmful effect on the environment.

In order to help in the implementation of projects in the field of environmental protection, the Provincial Secretariat for Urbanism and Environmental Protection in Vojvodina provided funds and 27 municipalities received contracts for financial resources for projects in this field.

The municipality of Beočin received funds that were allocated within the framework of two tenders, for the rehabilitation of wild landfills and for the management of municipal waste water, with a total value of 3,700,000 dinars.

“These funds will be directed to the co-financing of the rehabilitation project of illegal landfills in the settlements of Susek and Lug, for which the contract provides for 1,500,000 dinars, as well as for the development of project-technical documentation for the construction of waste water sewerage in Susek, for which the Secretariat allocated 2,200,000 dinars “, it is stated on the website of the municipality.

With this competition, the Provincial Secretariat supported the implementation of 36 projects that will be implemented in 27 municipalities throughout Vojvodina, and 110,000,000 dinars were allocated for co-financing.

“Inadequate waste management and the creation of illegal landfills are one of the biggest problems faced by almost all cities and smaller communities in Serbia. These projects will to a good extent enable the beginning of solving the long-standing problem of illegal landfills in our municipality as well as the issue of waste water processing”, the announcement states.
