Beijing: We are ready to destroy any form of Taiwan independence

China is ready to “smash any form of Taiwan independence”, the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Defense, Tan Kefei, announced today.

He added that the recent strengthening of cooperation between the US military and Taiwan is “an extremely wrong and dangerous move”, reports the Associated Press.

– The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) continues to strengthen military training and preparations and will resolutely crush any form of Taiwan independence, including attempts at external interference. They will resolutely defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity – said Tan.

With the largest navy in the world, the latest generation fighter jets and a huge arsenal of ballistic missiles, Beijing is intensifying its threats by sending aircraft and warships into the waters and airspace around Taiwan, according to the AP.

At the same time, the Chinese army, with more than two million members, is considered the largest in the world. On the other hand, Taiwan has the strong support of the United States of America, and the Republican and Democratic parties are asking President Joseph Biden to approve the export of military equipment to Taiwan, worth 19 billion dollars.

Official Beijing insists that Taiwan is Chinese territory, while authorities in Taipei claim that Taiwan is an independent country.
