Becoming an Online Togel Gambling Collector, A Mother in Grogol Arrested by the Police

Suara.com – A woman with the initials N (42) was taken into custody by the police for being an online gambling collector in the Grogol area, West Jakarta.

Head of Tanjung Duren Police, Kompol Muharram Wibisono, said N gets a 20 percent profit every time he makes a deposit.

Wibisono said that this arrest began with reports from the public who were uneasy about the perpetrators’ actions. Receiving the report, officers then arrested N on May 14 yesterday.

“Suspect N became an online lottery collector, then he played through the website that was followed on his cell phone,” said Wibisono, when confirmed, Friday (2/6/2023).

Meanwhile, Tanjung Duren Polsek Criminal Investigation Unit, Iptu Tri Bintang Baskoro said the modus operandi of the perpetrators was to collect money from gambling players. Then, the money will later be deposited into the online bookies.

To investigators, N also admitted that he had been a lottery gambling collector for 3 months. From the hands of the perpetrators, the officers also confiscated the lottery numbers posted by the gamblers.

Then there is also a certain amount of money, proof of transfer and application access to the online gambling.

“All the evidence is sufficient to determine his status as a suspect,” he said.

In order to account for his actions, N was charged with Article 303 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) concerning Gambling which carries a penalty of 4 years in prison.
