jabar.jpnn.comBANDUNG – The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) plans to close the Cicabe landfill again, if operations at the Sarimukti Landfill have improved.

“If this happens, our commitment to Cicabe will be terminated and return to Sarimukti,” said the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Ema Sumarna, in a statement, quoted on Thursday (18/5).

Ema revealed, after the booming condition of the Sarimukti TPA after Eid al-Fitr, operations are now gradually recovering.

This means that the Bandung City Government has the opportunity to re-do 210 rites.

“Thank God Sarimukti is getting better, there is an opportunity for the Bandung City Government to carry out 210 repetitions again. This means that there is a potential opportunity for the 1,200 tons of waste to return to the landfill,” he said.

Even so, he still appealed that waste must be managed properly so that the city of Bandung is not dependent on the existence of the Sarimukti TPA.

According to him, educating the public is the main thing for waste management, so that it can be completed directly at the source.

“On one side, public education is a necessity. Kang Pisman 3R or KBS (Free Garbage Zone) is our target. The duration is quite long, changing the mindset is not easy,” he said.

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) plans to close the Cicabe TPA again, when operations at the Sarimukti TPA have improved.
