Suara.com – The Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Bambang Soesatyo alias Bamsoet supported the proposal of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) if the debate on the Pancasila Ideology Bow Bill (RUU HIP) in the community had to be stopped. However, PBNU said the bill was now in the hands of the government.
Bamsoet said the government had until 20 July 2020 to respond to the follow-up of the HIP Bill. RI MPR handed it over to the government authority to decide how the fate of the bill was rejected by many people.
“Whether by changing the total DIM from the government to be submitted to the DPR including its title and contents, it really depends and we leave it to the government’s decision,” Bamsoet said during a visit to the PBNU office, Central Jakarta, Friday (07/03/2020).
The Golkar politician later said that the MPR RI had submitted to the Indonesian Parliament to revoke or replace the HIP Bill with a new draft in accordance with the aspirations of the people.
Bamsoet continued to stress that his party, including the PBNU, had agreed that the HIP bill would be better withdrawn because of its counterproductive contents.
“Because the contents are very dangerous and threaten national unity and integrity,” he said.
“Hopefully the DPR and the government will listen to what have been the aspirations of the people so that they are no longer interpretations of various kinds,” he concluded.
