Available watchOS 9.5 and tvOS 16.5 with Multiview function on Apple TV

Apple Watch and Apple TV users can now download new versions of their respective operating systems: watchOS 9.5 and tvOS 16.5.

Apple released today watchOS 9.5the fifth major update to the watchOS 9 operating system. The update can be downloaded for free through the Apple Watch app on iPhone by going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, your Apple Watch must have at least 50% battery, must be placed on a charger, and must be within range of the ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌iPhone‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌.

The watchOS 9.5 update adds the watch face Pride Celebration to match the Pride 2023 band and includes unspecified bug fixes.

The novelty introduced with is very interesting tvOS 16.5. Available for Apple TV 4K and ‌Apple TV‌ HD, tvOS 16.5 arrives more than a month after the launch of tvOS 16.4.

The update can be downloaded via the app Settings on ‌Apple TV‌ by going up System > Software Update. If you have automatic software updates activated, the update will be completed automatically within a few hours.

With tvOS 16.5, Apple introduces the Multiview functionality for sporting events which allows Apple TV‌ users to stream up to four sporting events simultaneously with a four-quadrant screen layout.

Currently, the events available in multiview are MLB Friday Night Baseball games and MLS Season Pass games. The grid view can be enabled by selecting the grid icon above the timeline bar and then choosing the ‘More Games’ button, and volume is only available for one event of your choice, with swapping available using the ‌Apple TV‌ remote .

There are no other notable features in tvOS 16.5.
