Austria donates equipment to Latvia for treating patients with Covid-19

Last night, an international consignment of cargo from Austria was delivered to Latvia – 100 mechanical and 10 electrical devices for sucking mucus from the upper respiratory tract of patients during transportation in the cars of the Emergency Medical Service.

A mucus suction catheter is a specialized device for clearing the respiratory tract. With its help, you can quickly and effectively remove mucous discharge from the nose, mouth, nasopharynx area.

This was announced by the Ministry of Health, thanking the partners for their support.

As a reminder, on October 21, 2021, Latvia submitted a request for assistance to the Civil Protection Agency of the European Union (EU). Due to the inevitable overload of hospitals, technical support from the international community will first be required.

Finland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Sweden, Lithuania and other countries have previously supported Latvia in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
