Audio maker Sennheiser to abandon consumer division


Bad news for fans of Sennheiser audio equipment: the manufacturer has just announced in a press release its intention to no longer deal with its consumer unit. Andreas Sennheiser, one of the two co-CEOs says:

We are focusing our own resources on the three areas of activity of the Professional division and are looking for a solid partner to invest in our Consumer activity.

Sennheiser said discussions would start soon, but did not release names of potential partners. It is also not known what the nature of this partnership will be: a co-investment, a license of the brand as is currently done by Marshall, or a complete sale of the consumer part.
