The Covid has hit hard throughout Spain, but has made the residences its biggest target. Of the 28,385 deaths reflected in the official historical series, at least 20,656 of the deaths correspond to elderly people who use social health centers throughout the country. The virus has made no distinctions. SARS CoV-2 has seeped into public, concerted and private residences since it began to wreak havoc in the country last February.

The evolution of the pandemic in the nursing homes of the archipelagos has left 89 deaths in the Balearic Islands and 18 in the Canary Islands.
