Highlights of the Asus ROG Ally console
A practical companion after all
The console runs on Windows 11 Home and supports a lot of gaming platforms, so you can play games on it for example from Steam, Xbox Game Pass, Epic Store and the like. It is equipped with classic control elements in the form of front triggers, analog joystick, XYAB buttons, D-Pad directional button, and the control layout more or less corresponds to the controller from Xbox consoles.
Sufficient performance is provided by the Ryzen Z1 platform, which contains 6 computing cores (12 threads) and has a total performance of up to 2.8 teraflops. The Z1 Extreme version will then offer 8 cores (16 threads) and a total performance of up to 8.6 teraflops, while it is also worth mentioning fast LPDDR5 memory. The internal storage of 512 GB is expandable using a memory card.
If the performance wasn’t enough
The console supports ROG XG Mobile technology, which is a kind of box with an external graphics card that kicks its performance to significantly higher levels. But it’s definitely not cheap fun, and the version with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card here costs over 40,000 crowns. Variants with GeForce RTX 4090 cards for $1,999 (43,300 crowns without VAT) and Radeon RX 6850M XT for $799 (17,300 crowns without VAT) should also arrive.
