ASUS releases ROG Delta S Animate, a headset with miniLEDS for animations

It has been no secret for years that it is hip to outfit your desktop system and peripherals with flashing colorful lighting. Yet there are still companies that go a step further and try something new in that area. So is ASUS, which launched the ROG Delta S Animate. A headset with mini LEDs that act as large pixels for displaying animations on the ear cups.

The headset has just over 100 miniLEDs per earcup and uses the AniMe Matrix custom design that can also be found on Zephyrus gaming laptops. This allows users to display images or animations on the earcups in conjunction with the Armory Crate software. It is also possible to display an equalizer that reacts to your voice. This SoundWave feature has been around for some time and also works on the ASUS ROG Delta S, a headset that has RGB LEDs around the ear pads.

Users who want to turn off the optical splendor can do so by pressing a dedicated button on the headset. In addition, the headphones also contain buttons with which the volume of the ear cups and microphone can be adjusted.

The headphones have a frequency response of 20 to 40,000 Hz and the impedance is 32 ohms. The device has both a USB-C and USB-A connection and supports hi-res music with a hi-fi ess 9821 quad dac and master quality authenticated renderer.

The ROG Delta S Animate will be available from mid-December and will cost USD 250. It is not yet known how much the headset will cost in the Benelux.
