Prague – Demand for FFP2 class respirators with a nanofiber membrane was a record on Wednesday. The highest daily demand from mid-September last year was also exceeded. People responded to the words of Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES), who said that he was considering the possibility of introducing surgical drapes and respirators in public transport and shops, following the example of Germany and Austria. With reference to data from the Nanospace.cz sales portal, the Association of the Nanotechnology Industry of the Czech Republic told CTK today.
“Demand for FFP2 nanofiber respirators rose 27 times on Wednesday compared to the previous days of January. 87 percent of our Wednesday customers ordered FFP2 nanofiber membrane respirators. The average order included more than 11 respirators. Some people bought more than just for themselves and Every seventh buyer ordered one or more packages with 50 pieces of FFP2 nanofiber respirators, “said Lucie Konečná, Nanospace.cz ‘s operations director, today.
She said that although the sellers of these veils held stocks in warehouses to cover the average monthly demand of regular customers, some economical packages of FFP2 nanofiber membrane respirators were bought by new customers on Wednesday. “But already on Wednesday afternoon we ordered other large deliveries from the manufacturers,” Konečná added. The Nanospace.cz business portal stated that most customers got to it on Wednesday from internet search engines, for which the phrase “respirator FFP2” was one of the most popular terms of the day.
So far, the portal recorded the highest demand last September, when the Czechia returned to the obligation to wear drapes inside buildings after the summer. The chairman of the Association of the Nanotechnology Industry of the Czech Republic, Jiří Kůs, stated today that Czech manufacturers of nanofiber respirators of protection class FFP2 now have a monthly production capacity of four million pieces and, if necessary, can immediately increase production to five million per month. “In addition to FFP2 nanofiber respirators, conventional respirators of protection class FFP2 are also produced in the Czech Republic. Thanks to this, the domestic monthly production capacity is millions more higher,” the association added.
