As expected, Xiaomi released the new Xiaomi 12 collection in China

The collection consists of Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Xiaomi 12X with Snapdragon 870.

Xiaomi has unveiled new Xiaomi 12 smartphones in China today, which have been rumored for some time. The collection consists of a total of three phones – Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

The Xiaomi 12, which will be the base model, was unveiled at the event with a new design and a smaller 6.28-inch screen than its predecessor. Also, the AMOLED screen, which reaches the 120 Hz refresh rate of the already expected Full HD + resolution from leaks, is protected by a Gorilla Glass Victus screen glass, as is familiar from its predecessor, and the screen is promised to reach a maximum brightness of 1100 nits.

In the middle of the hole at the top of the screen is the phone’s 32-megapixel front camera, and on the back cover are the phone’s main camera, which is sensed by the 50-megapixel Sony IMX766. The main camera is paired with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and the familiar 5-megapixel telecom camera from the Xiaomi 11 series.

As expected, Qualcomm’s fresh Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 system chip, paired with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage, is pulsating. The phone is powered by a 4500 mAh battery that supports 67 watts fast charging, 50 watts wireless fast charging and 10 watts reverse wireless charging.

The more expensive Xiaomi 12 Pro, on the other hand, offers a larger 6.73-inch screen, but is otherwise identical in design to its more affordable sibling. With the larger screen, its resolution has also been increased to 1440p, in addition to which the maximum brightness reaches as much as 1,500 nits (cd / m2)

In terms of interior, the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 pulsates inside the phone, but with a larger outer shell, the battery is a little bigger at 4600 mAh. Charging features are also more advanced, with a maximum wired speed of 120 watts from the Xiaomi 11T Pro.

For cameras, Pro offers an update in front of its name. The main camera is Sony’s 50-megapixel IMX707 sensor, in addition to which the phone also offers an ultra-wide-angle camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels and a resolution of 48 mm and an ultra-wide-angle camera with a resolution of 50 mm.

Somewhat surprisingly, Xiaomi also released a third device in its 12 series – the Xiaomi 12X. It is a device that shares its outer body with the base model, which also offers the familiar 6.28-inch screen, 4500 mAh battery, 67-watt fast charge and 50-megapixel main camera. However, it stands out from the Xiaomi 12 with a lower-powered Snapdragon 870 system chip and omitted wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 12 collection will be available in China in January. Prices for the Xiaomi 12 start at 8 / 128GB with a memory configuration of 3699 yuan (approx. € 510) and cost a maximum of 4399 yuan (approx. € 610) as a 12 / 256GB model. Prices for the Xiaomi 12 Pro start as an 8 / 128GB model at 4,699 yuan (about € 650) and at their highest it costs 5,399 yuan (about € 750) with 12 / 256GB memories. Xiaomi 12X, on the other hand, starts at 3199 yuan (about € 440).

At least part of the Xiaomi 12 collection can also be expected to enter Western markets during the first half of next year.
