Art exhibitions in the branches of the Latgale Central Library in December

In December, branches of the Latgale Central Library invite residents and guests of the city to various art exhibitions.

From 1 to 30 December in the Piekraste branch of the Latgale Central Library (40 Avenue Street) you can see an exhibition of paintings “From Heart to Heart”, donated to the Daugavpils Library by amateur artists. The works of local artists, created with gratitude and warmth in the heart, will delight library visitors, creating a special New Year’s atmosphere in the library.

In December, in the branch of the Latgale Central Library Jaunbuve (November 18 Street, 161, 2nd floor), two exhibitions can be seen:

• From December 6 to January 6, an exhibition of drawings “Creative Journey”, created by students of the Daugavpils secondary school of natural sciences, is open.

• From December 14 to January 14, it will be possible to watch an exhibition of creative works “Shining Light of Christmas Angels”, created by members of the “Stars” club of the “Jaunība” Children and Youth Center.

From December 13 to February 2, an exhibition of graphic works by Maija Shulga can be seen in the branch of the Latgale Central Library Ceriņu (Lauska Street 16). Maya Shulga is an artist from Kraslava, who works in graphics, watercolors and batik with hot wax. Makes jewelry and dolls. At this exhibition you can get acquainted with the works made in the technique of mixed graphics. This technique allows you to create unpredictable, interesting textures. Each work is based on the artist’s philosophical reflections on women, the rhythms of nature and life. The artist finds inspiration in travel, people and nature.

The art exhibition of Adriana Smirnova “My City” is open until December 30 at the branch of the Latgale Central Library Pardaugava (2 Komunala Street). The exposition consists of buildings, parks and other objects of Daugavpils, made in graphic technique. Now Adriana studies at the Daugavpils Center Secondary School, but at that time she was a student at the Daugavpils Design and Art Secondary School PIKC Children’s Art School “Saules Skola”. Adriana calls the creation of the exhibition a challenge, as she does not really like to draw buildings, but she really wanted to depict her favorite places in her hometown.
