Art brings us together. The new generation of creators, celebrated by IQOS at DIPLOMA

Every generation of creators wants to change the world. And that’s good. The world needs to be changed by new ideas and visions. That’s the only way we can evolve. And when all the different perspectives come together in a common space, something really special happens. The boundaries widen, the creative effervescence finds new forms of expression. That’s what DIPLOMA does, in partnership with IQOS, for several years: it celebrates the new creative generations, gives them a place to meet and express themselves. This year, the DIPLOMA festival runs from October 7 to 16 at Combinatul Fondului Plastic, and IQOS has prepared a series of experiences that combine technology and art, with the mission of bringing IQOS community members and festival attendees together.

A meeting space for new generations of creators

Art brings us together. With IQOS. It is the mission that the brand believes in: progress starts from a shared space of budding talents, and new ideas can change the world if supported by a strong community. The creative power comes from their strength, together. It is the reason why IQOS supports the creative industries in Romania and, over time, has developed a series of projects alongside artists at the beginning of the journey. Through the partnership with DIPLOMA, already in its third year, IQOS has contributed to the debut and promotion of young creators, offering them a platform for expression and manifestation.

It is important that the new generations have space for exposure, visibility and support. Thus they gain courage for daring works and confidence in their own resources. For nine years, DIPLOMA has been bringing to the public artists who present their most important work made during the academic period, respectively, the bachelor’s thesis. Painting, photography, new media, fashion, architecture or graphic design are the forms of artistic expression explored in the works exhibited at DIPLOMA.

“The DIPLOMA festival represents for us, every year, a source of inspiration and an opportunity to get closer to those with whom we share the same values and who are just now making their way in the world of art. We admire their creations, appreciate their enthusiasm and the innovative ideas they propose. We believe that, through their works, recent graduates offer a dynamic perspective on today’s world and access to how they relate to the present, to the changes they want. We are glad to be able to appreciate their talent together now, at the beginning of their careers. Art, like change, is best celebrated in community. That’s why IQOS offers a series of experiences within the DIPLOMA through which we want to bring people together through art“, he says Denys Strobykin, Marketing & Digital Director, Philip Morris Romania.

Synaesthesia, robots and special engravings

This year, at DIPLOMA, IQOS has prepared a series of special activations: a synesthetic installation, the engraving of IQOS devices with designs inspired by the festival theme, hoodies made in partnership with a Romanian creator of the new generation, drinks personalized by a robotic arm. Let’s take them one by one and take a short tour of the space created by IQOS at the festival.

Synesthesium, one of the main attractions of the festival, is an interdisciplinary project at the intersection of neuroscience with art and technology. Through the interactive installation developed together with the H3 studio, a series of visual stimuli generate brain reactions. Participants look at works exhibited at the festival on a tablet, and their neural reactions are visually transformed on an LED screen of the installation. The matches between the mental reactions of two participants can then be printed to preserve the memory of the experience. The installation can be visited until October 9 at the Plastic Fund Complex.

Limited Edition Hoodie, made by IQOS together with Remus Andrei Moldovan, a recent graduate of the Faculty of Decorative Arts and Design, is an original clothing product, dedicated exclusively to IQOS consumers, thus establishing a direct link between IQOS users and the creative industry. The proposed design graphically reinterprets the brand’s values by using elements from its visual identity, such as the recognizable shape of the letter Q in the logo, to which it gives another role, that of a dialogue window, which multiplies and thus reflects the idea of community.

Print a Drink– at the bar in the Combinatul Fondului Plastic courtyard, festival participants can experience unique cocktails: they can customize their drink ordered at the IQOS bar with special designs, created by a robotic arm.

Also, users who want to customize their IQOS device will be able to do so for free, from today until October 9, in the special space set up in the courtyard of the Plastic Fund Complex, by choosing one of the available models, inspired by the theme of the festival. The benefit is also available on the second weekend of the festival, on October 15 and 16.

IQOS has set up a lounge area in the Courtyard of the Plastic Combine, a meeting place for the IQOS creative community. Throughout the festival, those who want to know more about the moments prepared by IQOS in DIPLOMA, can join the community on the Instagram account @iqos_ro and can participate in contests with attractive prizes.

Access to the IQOS space is free and is only allowed to people over the age of 18.

IQOS is not without risks. It releases nicotine, which is addictive. IQOS is intended for adults who would otherwise continue to smoke or use nicotine products.
