New claimants will thus receive maximum support higher by more than 40 eur monthly. It can be taken for a maximum of 6 months.
Who is entitled to the benefit?
Compulsory insured persons in unemployment are entitled to unemployment benefit after fulfilling the legal conditions, ie employees on the basis of permanent employment or employees / contractors on the basis of an agreement on the performance of work or an agreement on employment with a regular monthly income.
Self-employed persons and other self-employed persons (SZČO) are not obliged to fast, but they can be entitled to the benefit if they have been insured voluntarily for the necessary period.
The assessment of entitlement to the benefit is not affected by the manner in which the employment relationship was terminated (by agreement or termination) or by the fact that it was an employment relationship for a certain, resp. indefinite time.
The new limit on the maximum amount of unemployment benefit will apply only to those benefits to which entitlement will arise from 1 July 2021. Insured persons who are already receiving a benefit will not change their amount from July.
The maximum amount of the guarantee benefit will be a maximum of EUR 3,399 from July. From 1 July 2021, the maximum amount of the guarantee insurance benefit will also increase – it will be 123 euros higher than at present.
An employee who is or has been in an employment relationship with an employer who has become insolvent and has not satisfied his claims from the employment relationship is entitled to this benefit after fulfilling the legal conditions.
If the insolvency of the employer arises between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022, the amount of the guarantee insurance benefit may amount to a maximum of EUR 3 399. In the previous annual period (from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021), its maximum amount was EUR 3 276.
The employer is insolvent in connection with the right to a guarantee benefit if a petition for bankruptcy has been filed with the competent court or the court has opened bankruptcy proceedings without such a petition under the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Act.
