Application of Credit Scoring and AI Technology Realizes BPR/BPRS Sustainable Financing

jpnn.comJAKARTA – Head of Regional 1 Financial Services Authority (OJK) for DKI Jakarta and Banten (KR01) Roberto Akyuwen conveyed the progress of BPR/BPRS credit in his area.

According to Roberto, the ratio of non-performing loans in Jakarta and Banten exceeded the 5% threshold as a result of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic since 2020.

He revealed this in a seminar entitled “Empowerment of Credit Scoring and AI Technology for the expansion of banking products and services in order to realize sustainable financing for BPRs and BPRS” held by Credit Bureau Indonesia (CBI).

“Therefore, BPR/BPRS are required to be more efficient in carrying out digitalized business processes,” said Roberto, in his statement, Saturday (27/5).

Roberto said that this has become one of the focuses of OJK KR01 in developing the BPR/BPRS industry which is faced with increased business competition.

The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the utilization of Credit Scoring for analysis of credit applications from CBI as a Credit Information Management Agency (LPIP) is expected to accelerate the digitalization of BPR/BPRS business activities.

“As specifically stated in Pillar two of the Indonesian Banking Development Roadmap, Acceleration of Digital Transformation,” he continued.

In the socialization of Market Conduct for BPR/BPRS Regional 1, it is necessary to use technology in monitoring the behavior of financial service business actors.
