Apple warns Polish users against surveillance by the authorities

Yesterday we wrote about the fact that Apple went to war with the Israeli company NSO Group, i.e. the creators of the Pegasus tool used to break security on iOS and Android devices and for surveillance of their users by the authorities of various countries. Shortly thereafter, the company began sending out alerts to its users, telling them what to do.

Such a warning was also received yesterday by Ewa Wrzosek, prosecutor and member of the Lex Super Omnia association, who, among others, she wanted to investigate the envelope elections, which resulted in a disciplinary penalty and immediate transfer to the district prosecutor’s office 300 km from her place of residence. As you can see, according to Apple, the Polish authorities are monitoring her iPhone using Pegasus.

The content of the message from Apple was published by the prosecutor on Twitter:

Similar warnings – as reported by Reuters – they also received, inter alia, activists in Thailand.
