iOS 16.6, the last update to iOS 16 predictably

Like it’s a Swiss watch with Apple punctuality has released the first developer beta of iOS 16.6. After 24 hours with iOS 16.5 officially with us, the Big Apple has gotten down to work to begin testing with what could be the last major update to iOS 16 before the arrival of iOS 17. Without a doubt This new version is not expected to bring any great news, but a new stage of betas begins where developers will have to debug, test, and report errors to achieve the maximum possible stability.

iOS 16.6 reaches developers with its first beta

Just two days ago, Apple officially launched iOS 16.5 with few visible innovations but very important security fixes. At a functional level, only a tab dedicated to sports was added in Apple News and all the new changes related to the spheres and wallpapers of the Pride 2023 Edition were included. But the most important thing is fixing security holes that were being actively exploited by hackers around the world and that iOS 16.4.1(a) didn’t fix it.

Now it is the turn of iOS 16.6, the next major release from Apple. A few hours ago it was published the first beta for developers available in Settings > General > Software updates from developers who have associated your Apple ID with the developer program. Remember that now the profiles cannot be transferred and that only certified developers can download versions of this type because they are linked to each Apple ID.

At the moment no changes have been revealed but weeks ago there was speculation about the arrival of user verification in iMessage through authentication keys, a function that was announced at WWDC22 and was pending release. We must also remember that iOS 16.6 will very possibly arrive after WWDC23 since it will begin in just a few days, on June 5.
