ANP ordered the verification of compliance with anti-COVID measures in 26 penitentiaries

The National Administration of Penitentiaries announced on Friday that it has ordered checks in 26 penitentiaries in the country on compliance with measures against the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

According to a press release of the ANP, the controls will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

“In order to ensure a functional management on the implementation of the prevention measures imposed by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, as well as to identify potential vulnerabilities and remedy them, the management of the National Administration of Penitentiaries ordered checks, between 04-05.07. 2020, in 26 subordinated units “, it is shown in the communiqué.

The verifications aim at the application of the norms regarding the access to the place of detention, the performance of the epidemiological triage, the observance of the hygienic-sanitary measures, the appropriate endowment with protective equipment – both of the employees and of the detainees.

Several employees of penitentiaries in the country have been detected recently with COVID-19.
