Android 14 will get a feature that has been on the iPhone for a long time

It allows you to customize your clock, add shortcuts for quick launch, and create spectacular wallpaper on your lock screen.

The function was introduced as part of the Google I / O 2023 conference. Android 14 will receive a customizable lock screen. Watch styles can be customized, as well as add shortcuts to frequently used applications. Unlike a similar function in the iPhone, the arrangement of elements can be chosen independently. For example, the time is displayed at the top, while the date, temperature, and social media icon are displayed at the edges of the screen.

Users will be able to create “live” emoji wallpapers. To create a background, just select an emoticon and the desired color. Images will become animated and will respond to clicking.

The Cinematic Wallpapers feature has also been announced. It will allow you to create three-dimensional images from any wallpaper, as in Google-photo. With the help of a neural network, you can create a parallax effect – the image slightly overlaps the interface elements, creating a sense of depth. The innovation will appear next month on Pixel smartphones.

In addition, Google has prepared a function to generate its own wallpapers based on AI. By choosing a theme, the user gives instructions for creating unique images. The possibility of customization is expected in the fall.
