We’ve seen a ton of different masks since the pandemic broke out, but Razer wants to take COVID-19 defense to a new level – at least in terms of visuals.
CES 2021 is in full swing, with more and more exciting announcements constantly coming in, the most important of which you can of course read here as well. Razer’s N95 masks may not fall into the most important category possible, but Project Hazel definitely stands out from the sea of protective masks in one respect: it has RGB lighting on it.
So we can practically say that Razer invented the gamer mask, since we have known for a long time that if something is “gamer”, it must be lit, otherwise the whole thing is worth nothing.
For the N95 Project Hazel masks, a circular RGB strip was inserted on two sides, around the filters. For the time being, the manufacturer has only shown the prototype at CES, but of course it doesn’t just want to conquer with its looks, quite precisely called the “world’s smartest mask”. The mask covers the face with a transparent protective layer and its straps are made of flexible silicone. In addition to the replaceable side filters (which arbitrarily regulate the air movement), it is definitely worth mentioning the internal LED lighting: this helps one of the important functions of the transparent mask to be valid at night: in this mask we can see the wearer’s mouth, mimicry, it does not cover half the face like traditional solutions.
We can also say goodbye to muttering, as Project Hazel has microphones and speakers – and even an application provided by Razer will be able to transmit the wearer’s voice. The storage box of the mask is not a silly piece either: it can not only charge the device, but also clean it with the help of UV light.
