Two weeks later, on November 22, a personal exhibition of a young Daugavpil resident Eduard Litvinovsky “Belarusian view of Daugavpils” will open at the National Library of Belarus in Minsk.

The exposition “Belarusian view of Daugavpils” presents portraits of local Belarusians in national costumes against the backdrop of stunning views of our city and region. The residents of Vitebsk, a long-standing partner in the commonwealth, have already managed to get acquainted with the exhibition, where it opened in the concert hall of the same name in mid-October.

It is in the “Vitebsk” concert hall that concerts and other events of the famous “Slavianski Bazaar” festival are held.

The long-term cooperation of the Center of Belarusian Culture in Daugavpils and the Republican Center of National Cultures of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus made it possible to implement this project – to present to the inhabitants of Belarus an exhibition of the young Daugavpils photographer Eduard Litvinovsky.

“Belarusian view of Daugavpils” is the first personal photo exhibition of a Daugavpil citizen. He was born in Daugavpils, but has Belarusian roots on the paternal side: they come from the Gomel region. By the way, this exhibition of a young and talented photographer could be seen in the lobby of the Palace of Culture in September – it opened within the framework of the traditional Belarusian kirmash.

For many years, as a volunteer, Eduard has been closely cooperating with the Center of Belarusian Culture and enthusiastically supported the photo project “Belarusian View of Daugavpils”. According to the author of the project, head of the Center for Belarusian Culture Zhanna Romanovskaya, the young photographer coped with his task perfectly, and his first public exhibition was a great success. Eduard managed to unite representatives of the Belarusian diaspora in one photo session, capturing them in national costumes against the backdrop of beautiful landscapes of Latgalian nature at different times of the year.

Zhanna Romanovskaya is sure that this exhibition is an open, friendly, kind and positive view of Belarusians who have been living in Daugavpils for many years, who perfectly remember who they are and where their roots come from. They preserve their language and culture, they do not stop loving Belarus, but no less they love their new homeland, which Daugavpils and Latvia have become for them.

From Vitebsk, the Daugavpils photo exhibition will go on a trip across Belarus: it will visit Minsk, Gomel, Svetlogorsk, Braslav.

The Center of Belarusian Culture expresses its sincere gratitude for the help and cooperation of the Department of Culture, the General Consulate of the Republic of Belarus in Daugavpils, the Belarusian society “Uzdym”.
