AMF – The LR mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard, dubbed by the outgoing François Baroin, was elected on Wednesday at the head of the influential Association of Mayors of France (AMF) with nearly 60% of the votes against the “Macron-compatible ”Philippe Laurent.

Current vice-president and spokesperson for the AMF, supported by Les Républicains et les Socialistes, David Lisnard obtained 6,913 votes out of 11,577 cast by the more than 34,000 members of the association, said the Electoral Commission at the 103rd Congress of mayors held in Paris.
