Ambulance runs over woman in Espinho
A 59-year-old woman was, this Tuesday morning, run over by an ambulance transporting non-urgent patients from the Espinho Volunteer Fire Brigade.
The victim was assisted at the scene by the ambulance driver and later transported to Hospital de Gaia.
According to a source from the Espinho Volunteer Firefighters to Notícias ao Minuto, after the victim was assisted by the ambulance driver, an Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) from Vila Nova Gaia and the PSP were called.
The woman is in serious condition, writes the Jornal de Notícias.
The alert for the accident was given at 7:17 am today, with seven operators supported by three vehicles at the scene.
The fire department opened an internal investigation process to understand the circumstances of the hit-and-run.
