If you’re tired of stenciled-looking electric cars – or unimaginative cars in general – the American Alpha Ace may be your vehicle. The 2 + 2-seater car presented at the end of last year is only 418 cm long, and its 189 cm width and 145 cm height make the otherwise friendly vehicle look squat.
The factory did not provide information about the Ace powertrain, but the car’s sporty brother has since been introduced. With its hot aerodynamic elements, the Ace Coupe Performance Edition evokes the design world of Japanese sports coupes of the sixties, longer and wider (430 x 192 x 144 cm) than its field relative. The electric sports car accelerates to 96 km / h in 4.6 seconds, has a top speed of 200 km / h and a range of up to 350 kilometers.
The differences between the base model and the sports version are clearly visible
This already sounds good, but Alpha Motor knows better: the Jax is an off-road coupe with raised bellies, cam racks, and twig breakers. Although it accelerates slower than the Ace Performance Edition (6.5 seconds to 96 km / h), it also travels 400 kilometers with its 75 kWh battery. Its practicality is enhanced by a rear side door and extra luggage space at the front.
Sounds great, doesn’t it? It’s a shame that for the time being, it’s all just a dream: the company accepts orders but promises its first cars by 2023. And in the meantime, anything can happen, so we really have no hope that the cars will be built – we don’t hope, but the more we support the success of the character-looking electric cars.
The basic version starts at the order of $ 35,000 (a good HUF 10 million), and the peak export of Jax is planned to be around $ 48,000 (HUF 14 million).
