The analytical company Counterpoint Research has published a new report on the wearables market, i.e. the so-called wearables. It shows that although AirPods headphones were once again the most popular in their category (TWS – True Wireless Stereo), their market share dropped quite significantly.

According to Counterpoint Research estimates, the share of Apple products in the TWS market in the third quarter of 2020 was 29%. Xiaomi was in second place with a 13% market share. Samsung and JBL each had a 5% share, QCY, JLAB and Jabra 3% each, and Sony, EDIFIER and realme 2% each. In the same period of 2019, Apple’s share was 41%.
According to analysts from Counterpoint Research, changes in the TWS wireless headphones market are mainly due to the fact that more and more smartphone manufacturers are releasing models without a headphone connector, which prompts users to buy this type of accessories. Manufacturers of cheap, budget models such as Xiaomi and realme benefited the most.
