Visa and Mastercard payment systems cards issued in Russia stopped working abroad in March 2022 after the companies left the country. However, Air Arabia and Flydubai are now offering to pay for tickets by link via SBP.

To do this, the client needs to book tickets on the site, contact the support service and receive a link by e-mail.

Air Arabia makes payments through its Russian representative, and the transaction fee is 6% of the total amount. At Flydubai, transactions go through an authorized agent with a commission of 2,000 rubles.

The press service of Flydubai notes that failures may occur when paying with the Mir card. With Russian Visa and Mastercard cards, there are no problems when conducting transactions through the SBP.

In a similar way, you can buy tickets in Emirates. As Izvestia was told in the call center, the buyer needs to request details by e-mail from the company’s Moscow office and book a ticket through the support service. Then, scan the received QR code in the banking application, indicating the total amount and booking number when paying.

When booking through the contact center, the air carrier takes a commission of 1.5 thousand rubles per person. Emirates clarifies that it may take several days to confirm the purchase.
