[아시아경제 이현우 기자] The U.S. media reported that the U.S. government plans to request documents stating that all aircraft passengers entering the U.S., including U.S. citizens, have been tested negative for the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19). It is known because of concerns about a mutant virus that is spreading around the world in recent years.

On the 12th (local time), the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that, citing a U.S. government source, the U.S. government will require documents stating that it has received a negative Corona 19 test without exception to passengers on flights coming from abroad for quarantine. Not only foreigners, but also U.S. citizens cannot fly to the U.S. without a negative corona 19 test. The policy will be applied from the 26th of this month, WSJ reported.

WSJ said the policy was prepared after discussions with health authorities by the White House Corona 19 Task Force (TF). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is expected to announce the policy soon. This policy is interpreted as a measure by the US government concerned about the spread of a mutant virus known to have been recently discovered in Britain, South Africa and Japan.

Earlier, since the end of last month, the U.S. government has made it mandatory for all passengers on flights departing from the UK to test negative for Corona 19 when entering the U. To date, Canada is a country that has mandated the submission of negative Corona 19 confirmations for all aircraft passengers entering their country.
