At the end of December, the Ministry of Education signed an agreement with Moduls Engineering on the supply of CO meters2 in the air, which were planned to be installed in the offices of all educational institutions of Latvia in the summer.
The procurement process is divided into two stages and the installation of the first devices should begin in January. It is scheduled to be completed on February 26.
By the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science, the first devices will be received by general education institutions.
According to the head of the Daugavpils Education Department Marina Isupova, an application has already been sent to the supplier for 260 meters, another 90 will be received at the second stage.
Funding from the state budget for these purposes in the amount of 3.7 million euros was allocated last summer. However, the purchase was delayed due to repeated appeals of its results.
Today, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Education and Science, the cost of purchasing air quality meters may increase to 4.3 million euros.
