Water operation is the title of the exhibition that, from last Thursday until March 3, can be seen in the Plaça de les Cultures in Martorell. It reflects on the global distribution of fresh water, human waste, pollution and future challenges. It is organized by Agbar, a company in the environment sector and supplier of water in our municipality and close to 300,000 homes throughout Catalonia.
Four explanatory panels make visitors reflect on the water element and its use. The first, entitled ‘Water for all?’, Explains its unequal distribution around the planet, the forecast for the future in the context of climate change and how to move towards sustainable development goals.
The second, ‘How much water do you consume?’, Provides data on domestic water consumption, tips for saving and also an estimate of the virtual water we consume indirectly: through food, clothing and other everyday objects. The third section, called ‘How does water get dirty?’, Discloses the different household waste that goes to the drain. Finally, the fourth is entitled ‘How do we pollute water?’, And denounces how human activities affect consumption and impact on water pollution.
The exhibition is aimed at a very general audience, but is well designed for students to participate in it, through an interactive game. He began his journey on October 1 in Granollers, and also stopped in Mollet, Sant Celoni, Sant Cugat and Rubí, before arriving at our house. Then, it will visit 22 more Catalan towns, until June 2022.
