This was confirmed during the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between BPKH and BPS-BPIH today in Jakarta, Thursday (15/7/2021).
The agreement signed by UUS BTN is an extension of the previous agreement which expired in June 2021.
As a Bank Receiving Deposits for Hajj Organizing Fees, UUS BTN performs its functions as BPS BPIH Recipient and BPS BPIH Investment Partner as mandated by BPKH during the PKS period, which is from July 2021 to June 2024.
“We are grateful for the trust given by BPKH to UUS BTN as BPS-BPIH for that UUS BTN Insyaallah will always carry out both functions as a receiving bank and investment partner by managing the Hajj Pilgrimage Savings Account (RTJH), Hajj finances in a more professional, accountable, and trustworthy manner. , and transparent in accordance with sharia principles and the principle of prudence,” said Director of Consumer and Commercial Lending Bank BTN, Hirwandi Gafar in a statement on Friday (16/7/2021).

UUS BTN is committed to always improving services for prospective pilgrims and maintaining the trust together with BPKH in managing pilgrims’ funds. Pilgrims funds managed by UUS BTN have received guarantees from the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).
Hirwandi asserted, as BPS-BPIH, UUS BTN always reports financial performance on every publication & can be accessed by the entire public through the official website of Bank BTN and UUS BTN is always subject to and obedient to regulators and applicable laws and regulations. Currently, all funds managed by BTN Syariah are in accordance with their functions, namely guaranteed liquidity, well managed to obtain optimal benefit value.
For information, based on data from the Association of Indonesian Sharia Banks or Asbisindo until the end of 2020, hajj funds in Islamic banks reached Rp 45.3 trillion, of which the funds were concentrated in deposits and demand deposits.
Meanwhile, based on the BPKH Financial Report, as of December 2020, hajj funds managed by BPKH reached Rp144.91 trillion, or an increase of 16.56 percent compared to 2019 which was recorded at Rp124.32 trillion.
