After severe frosts, work resumed on the creation of new housing in the Rugeli microdistrict

The end of severe frosts allows the resumption of construction work in many microdistricts of the city. In particular, to continue the renovation of a multi-storey residential building in Rugeli at 7 Gaismas Street, which in the future will become new housing for professionals and large families.

At the moment, the building is prepared for a multifaceted renovation: construction work is carried out by specialists of a very different profile, and now the dismantling of damaged elements in the first section of the house, where there are 35 apartments, is almost complete.

An examination of all parts of the house has already been carried out and it has been established that the building, including the roof, is in good condition. Nevertheless, according to the project, insulation of the attic space and basement is to begin here in a month.

A key moment in the process of renovating a house on ul. Gaismas, 7 – the object is connected to heating and its warming up and drying has begun, which allows builders to engage in the most diverse work.

The installation of the heating unit has not yet been completed: the repair of individual parts of the heat supply system is pending. Later, new radiators with thermostats and individual heat meters will be installed in the apartments, and the thermal insulation of the pipes will also be restored.

It is planned to complete all work in the first section of the building in June-July this year. Then the repaired part of the residential building will be put into operation and then it will be possible to switch to the repair of the rest of the house sections. Discussion of this issue will take place in the local government on Friday, February 26th.

In addition, the city council continues to consider various financing options for the implementation of this project.
