The Danish frigate “Esbern Snare” continues its patrol in the Gulf of Guinea off western Africa after a firefight with pirates on 24 November.

The four detained pirates remain on the ship.

This is stated by the Armed Forces in a press release.

On November 24, eight pirates attacked forces from the Danish frigate “Esbern Snare”, which arrived in the area a few weeks ago.

Four pirates died and four survived.

No Danes were injured.

The four pirates, one of whom is badly injured, were remanded in custody in absentia on Thursday 25 November – that is, without being present – for 13 days at a constitutional hearing in Copenhagen City Court.
