Adobe and the Smithsonian Museum are making an AR exhibition of life in the oceans

Adobe has announced a new one partnership with the Smithsonian Museum and Hydrous, in order to create an AR exhibition that will to present life in the oceans on mobile phones. Hydrous created a program called “The Decade of Ocean Empathy” which was supported by the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, which includes Smithsonian’s 3D collections of scanned corals. Agreed working with Adobe will allow them to use the Adobe Aero AR tool to bring this virtual exhibition to life by simply scanning QR codes.

Interactive 3D animations

The project is based on a series of interactive three-dimensional animations, which will help viewers to better understand and visualize life in the oceans, and the contents are photorealistic renderings and a digital display of ocean flora and fauna. In addition to the 3D model housed in an AR environment, everything will be covered by the narrative and will be fully interactive. The goal of the project is to raise awareness about the threats facing life in the oceans, as well as how man, through his reckless actions, influences the change of the ocean ecosystem.

The use of AR will in the future make museum exhibits not only more attractive, but also much more interactive, and will allow to significantly expand the circle of visitors who will have the opportunity to see these settings. Otherwise, the Adobe Aero application can be downloaded by users of iOS and Android phones, but due to the great complexity, only a few models meets all conditions for its normal operation.
